Divine Nation – Part 2
Progress was different from the game.
Originally, the Archangels and Demon Dukes had been scattered throughout the Divine Nation.
You were supposed to hunt them down one by one.
But maybe due to the butterfly effect—or maybe due to the limitations of a mobile game—they had now all appeared at once.
Tap, tap tap.
The level 8 superhumans were the first to gather.
The last to arrive, Poka, narrowed his eyes.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a scene like this.”
This wouldn’t be easy.
The Archangels and Demon Dukes were level 8.
And on top of that, they were stacked with hundreds of Divine Nation buffs.
They weren’t just level 8—they were functionally level 8.5.
I glanced back briefly.
‘The corpses are being digested.’
The bodies of the old father’s cultists—
From level 1 apprentice priests and trainee paladins to level 7 archbishops and elite knights.
All of them were disintegrating, being absorbed by the Divine Nation.
Their power was being converted into buffs and infused into the angelic and demonic armies.
But that wasn’t all.
The real power was climbing along the belt of the constellations.
The black-gold constellation spread across the sky.
Toward the Grand Celestial Court beyond.
“I’ll restore everyone.”
Poka swept his hand through the air.
An orange heat wave wrapped around the entire allied force.
Their depleted stamina and mana rapidly recovered.
A miracle befitting a level 8 Sage-God.
While that happened, I quickly finished drafting the augmented reality guide.
‘We’ve got nine level 8 superhumans on our side.’
Myself, two Legion Commanders, the Shinwha Group Chairman, the Sun Mage Tower Master, Sage-God Poka, and three martial artists from the Demonic Cult.
I glanced off to one side.
‘If only the Winter Queen had made it to level 8.’
We just didn’t have enough time.
If we’d had just three or four more months to train her…
Seong Huiyeong flew over, golden wings spread.
“Sir. There’s a massive miracle formation ahead.”
“What kind?”
“Resurrection.”
A data packet arrived at the Dragon Lord’s command system.
A miracle woven subtly throughout the wasteland.
It was like a spell formation carved into the entire battlefield.
So discreet that even I might have missed it without close inspection.
Poka let out a low groan.
“This is insane. You’re telling me they set that up in advance? What a vile bastard. Just how many lives did they sacrifice to fuel this?”
I, too, focused my senses on the wasteland.
A resurrection miracle.
But not a one-time resurrection.
It was infinite.
As long as they had enough mana, the angelic and demonic armies before us would function as immortal legions.
‘So that’s why they sacrificed the entire cult.’
A bitter taste filled my mouth.
At the same time, every hair on my body stood on end.
It was clear how far the old father and the Saintess were willing to go for today’s final battle.
Seong Huiyeong stared at me intently.
“What do we do? According to the goddess, we have to break through here if we want to reach the old father.”
There was only one option.
A special operations team.
I looked across the allied army.
‘We can’t bring the level 8s.’
Because of the Archangels and Demon Dukes.
Buffed as they were, even a two-on-one wouldn’t guarantee victory against them.
We had to thin their numbers first.
More precisely, we had to kill them all, then stagger their resurrections with timing.
Only then could seven of them stall for time.
Tap, tap tap.
I moved my fingers quickly.
Selected only a small group of superhumans and drafted a list.
At the same time, I established a three-dimensional formation.
It wouldn’t push too deep into the wasteland.
But it would still provoke enough of a battle to keep the enemy occupied, without dragging down the special ops team.
[Baek Sorin, Janet, Kali, Seo Woojin]
[Seong Huiyeong and three Directors of Geumo Group]
[Archbishops of Thor, Gaia, and Poka’s cults]
[Giant Bear, Skeleton Snake]
[Five level 7 fish-men]
[Winter Queen and five level 7 non-human races]
[Silver Dragon, Blue Dragon, White Dragon, Sea Dragon]
Including me, that made 29 in total.
No—counting Red, it was more like 25 people and 5 dragons.
As soon as I shared the special ops list, the comms network lit up.
[Sir! I can do this too!]
[Heavenly Demon Lord! Are you abandoning our faith?!]
[Please! Give us a chance as well!]
I felt bad, but it was impossible.
If I had time, I would’ve explained it calmly, but I didn’t.
[General] ]] [Dragon Lord] [[ [Dragon Knight]
I spoke with a will as sharp as frost.
[Follow orders. Soldiers.]
The moment I put strength into my command, everyone fell silent.
The Legion Commander beside me gave a small grin and patted my shoulder.
Vrrrm.
We advanced.
The miracle zone drew near.
“Kikih!”
The demons grinned as they readied their spears and blades.
Clack!
The angels loaded shells into their shotguns.
Tension crept in like smoke.
The air was heavy.
It felt like the entire world had become our enemy.
The mana pressing in on us was suffocating—but the buff I’d cast remained firm.
With the strength of Dragon Monarch’s Command as their staff, the allied army continued its steady advance.
“You there.”
A delicate angel with a radiant crown called out to me.
“Savior of the world. Light of the world. Do you truly believe you can defeat the One who is great and supreme? Are you blind to the futility of your actions, and how they will all dissolve into meaninglessness?”
So basically, she was calling me an idiot for wasting my time. Just in a flowery, roundabout way.
I lifted my chin high, unshaken.
“I don’t know. So what?”
“Foolish creature…”
The demon standing beside her stepped forward.
Despite the difference in type, they looked like twins.
Even their equipment was nearly identical.
The demon wore a crown tinged with shadowy darkness.
“It’s not too late. You, who were meant to be part of the old father—why not return to him now? If you do, the old father will spare all those connected to you, for your sake.”
The angel supported the demon’s words.
“Is that all? We’ll board the ark together and set sail to the new world. To the world the Saintess—our noble, beautiful Lady—has foreseen. We can all go there, together.”
“Yeah, no thanks.”
A part of you?
Sounds noble, but it’s just a fancy way of saying they’ll eat me.
So what, I’m supposed to be coexisting inside your body along with every cow, pig, chicken, grain of rice, soybean, wheat stalk, cabbage leaf, lettuce, chili, and clove of garlic you’ve ever eaten?
Give me a break.
I deliberately took one big step forward.
No trait. Just a single step.
But Heavenly Demon’s Sovereign Step activated, gliding me forward effortlessly.
Space flickered—and suddenly, I was standing right in front of them.
CRACK!
A layered defense barrier activated and pushed me back.
The Sacred Knight Archangel and the Shadow-Crowned Demon Duke shouted.
“How arrogant!”
“You think you can take all of us on alone?”
I had to.
To preserve the Allied Forces’ superiority.
Especially when it came to real-time eliminations—against infinitely resurrecting angels and demons, we absolutely needed the level 8 superhumans focused on the army.
Which meant I had to handle the Archangels and Demon Dukes alone.
Completely. Alone.
“Preposterous!”
A colossal demon flew toward me.
His entire body was forged from black-gold alloy—the most durable of any being here, angel or demon alike.
Behind him, other angels and demons hurried into attack position.
Their plan was clear: block me once, then unleash a barrage.
“Hmph.”
But I didn’t flinch—I just scoffed.
I gripped the Heavenly Demon Sword with both hands.
Traits lined up.
[Nephilim Sword] ]] [Heaven-Piercing Blade] [[ [Kalaratri]
The ultimate blend of overwhelming damage and peak burst power!
And the Heavenly Demon Sword ignited.
Heavenly Demon Force blazed like the fire of myth,
and the sword path of the Heaven-Cleaving Sword engraved itself in my mind.
And then I saw it.
A single line. One that bisected heaven and earth!
CRAAACK!
I struck with the Heavenly Demon Sword.
The world shattered.
One streak tore down from the constellations above to the dark, lifeless land below.
That line passed right through the Alloy Demon Duke.
“What…”
As far as I knew, he possessed an invincibility-type trait.
His whole body now shimmered with an ominous black glow, likely the manifestation of that trait.
But it was meaningless.
Heaven-Piercing Blade, combined with the Heaven-Cleaving Sword, shattered that invincibility and erased his very existence.
SHHHHK!
The Alloy Demon Duke split in two.
An ominous black liquid vaporized, scattering into molten metal scraps.
He’d eventually resurrect, but the fact remained—he died in a single strike.
The Archangels’ eyes widened.
“What madness!”
“The Seat of Protection—how could he fall?”
The Demon Dukes’ mana visibly wavered.
“A monster!”
“Be careful!”
“He’s already touched the Celestial Ascension!”
Still just watching?
I was about to swing the Heavenly Demon Sword again—
When the lead Archangel lunged with a furious scream.
“Turn to dust!”
A massive body over ten meters tall.
In both hands, he held a warhammer even larger than himself.
The weapon alone was 15 meters long, the hammerhead another 5.
Like swinging a giant SUV.
And worse—it was wrapped in a destructive aura.
By the book, I should’ve blocked it with Aegis.
My left hand started to move.
But then instinct screamed—Don’t block it.
Blocking and countering would only drag this out.
The Archangel and Demon Dukes would regain their composure, and the fight would get drawn into their infinite resurrection swamp.
Grit.
Instead, I clenched my teeth and chose a different path.
[Close-Combat Mastery] ]] [Hammer God] [[ [Master of the Blunt Weapon]
I summoned Mjölnir.
Gripped the Heavenly Demon Sword in my left hand.
The reverse of how I’d used them before.
Calling on the Heavenly Demon Cultivation Technique,
I didn’t use Heaven-Cleaving Sword or Heaven-Cleaving Palm,
but built a brand-new martial art!
[Giant’s Strength][One-Man Army]
With rage flaring and will ablaze, I prepared for total destruction—
and added a hidden trump card:
[Hero]
My mana circuits felt like they were burning.
A monstrous power surged through my entire body.
But my mind was cool as ice.
Clearer than ever, aware down to the tiniest flicker of time.
My body, already rivaling level 9, now surpassed even that—
pushed into a rampaging state of enhancement.
Mjölnir merged with my consciousness.
Its form, mana, internal circuitry, divine blessings, origin and history—
I understood it all completely.
It felt like I became the Hammer God.
And from the edge of that awareness, I forged a new martial art.
Over the blazing aura, a single name was etched:
Heaven-Cleaving Hammer.
BOOM!
Hammer met hammer.
Explosion. Thunder. Shockwave.
A burst of blinding light.
This wasn’t some thunderstorm technique using [Lightning Slash]—
it was a pure, brutal force of nature.
A destructive force that obliterated down to the atomic level.
That power radiated outward—straight toward the Hammer Archangel.
“Uhh…”
He didn’t even get a word out.
A faint groan.
That was it.
The force swept over him.
His upper body blasted away in an instant.
A massive hammer, bigger than an SUV?
Didn’t matter.
It was pulverized.
No—disassembled at the atomic level.
Erased without a trace.
“The Seat of Destruction!”
“Y-You bastard! I’ll kill you!”
Another Archangel charged forward in rage.
Not with feathered wings—he bore wings of pure light.
In an instant, he zipped past me, unleashing a barrage of magical bombardments.
Each spell clearly meant to mark me with tracking magic,
but I dodged reflexively, twisting my body just in time.
[Air Raid] ]] [Thunder Step] [[ [Lightning Slash]
Rumble…
A low peal of thunder.
But by the time the sound spread—
I was already gone.
Moving at speeds far beyond the sound barrier, chasing the Archangel.
“Hmph!”
The Light-Winged Archangel turned to look at me.
“Catch me if you can!”
Should I call Red?
No. I didn’t need him.
When I took that step, I realized something.
I was faster than Red.
Faster than the Red Cougar, the flying car.
Faster than a supersonic jet.
Even just running through open air!
CRACK.
Space split.
With each step, it crunched apart, tearing underfoot.
The world stretched like melted taffy.
A flicker of fear appeared in the Light-Winged Archangel’s eyes.
He turned his head and accelerated again with his wings of light—but it was already too late.
I caught up to him, and with Aegis, I struck.
WHAM!
A full-powered blow, slammed in with everything I had.
His wings of light shattered.
Blood like a landslide exploded from his body, and his torso crumbled into powder, scattered to the winds.
In the game, he’d been an annoying boss—but for me, he went down in one hit.
“Old Father!”
“Focus fire!”
“Don’t give him any time!”
Five remained.
A chilling sensation slapped my back.
I turned—an all-out assault was incoming.
An Archangel fired a starlight mega-cannon.
A Demon Duke swung tentacles like those of a spacefaring octopus.
The Sacred Knight Archangel shot radiant beams.
The Shadow-Crowned Archangel blasted me with mana shells.
But one stood out above the rest.
A Demon Duke, seated cross-legged, palms pressed together.
A sinister dark halo spun behind him like a wheel.
From what I knew, he was a mage-type Demon Duke.
If left alone, he would unleash a mega-scale spell beyond any known magic or miracle.
‘Not happening.’
I deployed Aegis.
Layered Absolute Barrier with the Earth trait, overlaying it with the newly awakened technique—Limitless Mass.
Then I hurled it.
BOOM!
A mountain flew through the air.
“Block it!”
“What kind of human is he?!”
The remaining four somehow managed to defend.
But my attack didn’t stop there.
WHRRR!
Annihilation Thunderstorm Mjölnir flew out.
[Supreme Flame] ]] [Divine Annihilation Flame] [[ [Sacred Knight]
Mountain Wail erupted with flames that could incinerate the world.
[Ultimate Ice] ]] [Absolute Zero] [[ [Magic Brain]
A storm of hail fired in succession, cold enough to freeze molecular motion itself.
Lightning, Earth, Flame, Ice—the four elemental forces intersected.
To finish it all off, I summoned the dragon.
[You called?]
Red soared in and unleashed his Primordial Breath.
“Gah!”
“Kh!”
The Blacklight Demon Duke, who had been preparing transcendental magic, could no longer stand by.
He joined the others in forming a barrier.
But I was faster.
[Invincible Gun] ]] [Seat of Mortality] [[ [Finishing Strike]
Bang!
I pulled the trigger of the Jeongjo Gun, now transformed into a sniper rifle.
One shot pierced right through the Demon Duke’s forehead.
“Haha… hahaha…”
The attribute selected for the gun: Destruction.
Supported by [Supreme Flame], [Ultimate Ice], and [Sacred Knight].
Holy flame and ice consumed the Demon Duke.
“Damn… it…”
He crumbled into ash.
A cold wind scattered what was left.
And then, from the battlefield below, came a chorus of elated shouts.
“Long live Sir!”
“We’re winning!”
“Angels and demons are nothing!”
“Kill them all!”
“Wipe them out!”
The ground battle raged on.
The six level 8 superhumans were leading the charge.
Even before, they’d been on a rampage—
but now that I had cut down two Archangels and two Demon Dukes in an instant,
morale had skyrocketed.
The entire Allied Force looked like a swarm of berserk Nord warriors.
“You… you!”
The twin angel and demon glared at me like they wanted to kill me.
Calling me “you” now, huh? A minute ago, it was “Savior.”
I retrieved Mjölnir and Aegis.
Held one in my left hand and strapped the other to my arm like clockwork, smiling as I did.
“Infinite resurrection?”
Then I scoffed.
“I’ll just kill you infinitely.”
I believe the term is spawn killing, right?
If they don’t get invincibility frames on respawn, then this place is a goldmine.
The twin Archangel and Demon Duke trembled.
I gripped the Heavenly Demon Sword tighter.
As I started thinking it was time to wrap this up,
the Sacred Knight Archangel and Shadow-Crowned Demon Duke looked into each other’s eyes.
“Brother!”
“Yes, brother!”
Before I could react, each grabbed the closest ally.
The Sacred Knight Archangel seized the Starlight Cannon Archangel.
The Shadow-Crowned Demon Duke grabbed the Tentacle Demon Duke.
The captured Archangel and Demon Duke immediately struggled, realizing something.
“No! Twin Thrones, don’t do this!”
“We can handle this! Just hold on—they’ll resurrect soon!”
“It’s too late!”
“Offer up your souls, born of the Old Father, back to him!”
“No, don’t—!”
The four of them rose into the air.
The twin crowns shone with an ominous light.
And then… they began to merge.
Their beings—two Archangels, two Demon Dukes—fused into one.
I instantly understood what was happening.
The four were becoming one.
In other words…
They were fusing!
